when i open wc... it turns all black like its supposed to... but it stays black and then when i press the windows button theirrs wc AND a blizzard player... then when i exit any of em my comp freezes.. this only happened cuz i had to redownload wc

Have you updated WC3 recently? If so, did WC3 crash? I believe Blizzard Player might have something to do with installing updates from Battle.net. Is this a one time problem, or is it constant? if it is constant please post a screen-shot or two to help us out.

actully i havent updated wc3 lately.. ill try that... ill also reply if the problem keeps on coming up if it still does not work

ACTULLLY nvm cuz im pretty sure i updated it and the blizzard player stil lshows up and my wc still doesnt work and my comp freezes

Updates would have nothing to do with this. They haven't patched it since 1.21, and you can dl that directly from their patch site (a little niche hidden away at http://www.blizzard.com/support/?id=mwr0642p). Do you run on Vista? If so, you may have to give it admin access (though this wouldn't make sense because if you didn't give it admin access it wouldn't run in the first place). Secondly, have you made any changes to your graphics drivers recently, or perhaps altered any directory files for Warcraft?

I'm pretty sure this is a driver issue, and you should update your drivers. this could also be from malformed data and if that is the ccase, you will have to reinstall.

Warcraft isn't too picky about graphics drivers. That's why I love it so much, it's a very fun game but runs low-scale and is compatible with almost anything. Solving this issue shouldn't be a prob, just go to the site of your graphics card manufacturer (most popular are NVidia and ATI) and get the latest driver. If you're worried about screwing something up just make sure you keep a back-up reference to your old driver so you can revert, but I doubt anything will happen.

EDIT: In original it said "Warcraft is too picky...". Changed to isn't.

If you have it, give me the make and model number of your graphics card and I can try to find the most recent update for it. If you are having some trouble with it just contact me on XFIRE (see the XFIRE section under Important Information) and I'll help you out. If I'm not available, try contacting Soul or Justin, they may be able to find it for you as well.

Fist of all, Demo, stop making me look stupid. Very Happy

Second, if you really want to play Warcraft right click the (Warcraft) icon on your desktop and go to Properties. Then go to the "Shortcut" tab. Finally, you need to change the "Target" to this.

Code:: "C:\Program Files\Warcraft III\Frozen Throne.exe" -opengl

It should then look like this.

NOTE: This is a temporary solution, as you can only run Warcraft at 800x600 resolution. I am also not positive this will work on any other operating system besides Vista. Please let me know. I hoped this helped.
